Barry
Hudock
Barry is ABLE Families’ Executive Director. A native of western Pennsylvania, he is a graduate of Gannon University (BA, English), the Gregorian University (STB, Theology), and the Catholic University of America (STL, Sacramental Theology). He and his wife Toni have seven children. They live in Williamson, WV.
Sr. Patricia Ann Murray, OSF
Sr. Pat is the Program Director for ABLE Families. Originally from the western suburbs of Chicago, she is a graduate of Dominican University, in River Forest, Illinois, and lived for nine years in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Sr. Pat is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart. She now lives in Warfield, Kentucky, with fellow community member Sr. Therese Carew, who is the Program Coordinator of Christian Help.
Daphne Armstrong
Daphne is the Office Manager for both ABLE Families and our sister agency, Christian Help of Mingo County. She grew up in the area and brings a decade of experience working in local banks. She says she's very happy to be working now with agencies that make such a positive difference in people's lives. Daphne and her husband have three children and one grandchild. They live in Kermit, WV, where they attend Lighthouse Community Church.
Molly Lueken
Molly began coordinating ABLE Families’ adult education program in October 2009, offering classes in GED prep, basic literacy, and other areas. She is a graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, and a former teacher in the Florida public school system. Molly and her husband, Kyle, are volunteers with the Christian Appalachian Project. They live in Hagerhill, Kentucky.
MIHOW
Staff
Nine in-home family educators make up the staff of our Maternal Infant Health Outreach Worker (MIHOW) program. Afterschool
Staff
Our Afterschool program is staffed by (left to right) Tabatha Block, Gail Muncy, and Amber Davis. Tabatha is the newest addition to our staff. She has past experience as a day care worker and is the mother of three young children. In addition to coordinating the Afterschool program, Gail is also an in-home family educator for ABLE Families’ MIHOW program. She has two children. Amber earned a B.A. in human services counseling from Lindsey Wilson College. She is the leader of her church’s youth group and is the mother of four.
Stefan
Barber
Stefan Barber is our AmeriCorps*VISTA volunteer this year. A native of DeGraff, Ohio, he graduated with distinction from Ohio University's Honors Tutorial College in June 2009. Stefan developed an affinity for Appalachia while living in Athens during his college years, and he was drawn to Kermit after researching the economic conditions of Mingo County. At ABLE, he works to build the capacity in our programs by assisting in fundraising, partnership building, and public relations efforts. After his term of service, Stefan plans to either attend law school or seek employment with the Center for American Progress in Washington D.C.
